Illinois Chess Teachers

Illinois Chess Teachers was founded in 2005 by chess teachers Paul Raso and Blair Machaj to provide top-quality school enrichment programs.

Paul and Blair have two decades of experience teaching and coaching tens of thousands of students in chess. Assisted by a talented and engaging team of teachers and coaches, they designed a program to help students of all levels learn and grow with the game of chess. The curriculum and activities are fun, welcoming, and challenging for beginners, intermediate, and advanced tournament players.

Hinsdale Camp1: June 3rd to June 7th M-F, 1-4pm

Hinsdale Camp2: July 29th to August 2nd M-F, 1-4pm

Naper Camp 1 : June 3rd to June 7th. 1:00 to 4:00.

Naper Camp 2: July 22nd to July 26th. 1:00 to 4:00.

Chess Camps include:

  • Group lessons for all skill levels (beginners, intermediates, advanced tournament players)

  • Master Level instruction and Grandmaster Moves!

  • Fun New Tactics, Strategies, and Tricks to Improve!

  • A puzzle-solving contest with trophies

  • Tournaments

  • Chess Clocks and Speed Chess

  • Bughouse and Team-games; unique chess variants

  • Campers will receive certificates, trophies, or medals.

Tournaments

Tournaments are an excellent way to show off the knowledge your child has received from our class. Your child can play against students from over 40 schools in the Chicagoland suburbs. In addition, chess tournaments allow students to demonstrate their skills and compete for trophies, medals, and school pride!
